Immortal Beloved

I must say, i have once more fallen in love with Beethoven. If i were alive when he was composing his mellow dramatic pieces. I would have been one of his lovers hah !. What caused this sudden saying you might ask?, in Music Appreciation today we watched about an hour of Immortal Beloved. The story is about Ludwig van Beethoven's love letter to a mysterious lover that was found after his death. His accomplice (I believe that's what he was), goes on a mission to find the woman that captivated Beethoven's heart. I am a sucker for "period" movies, no actually obsessed would be the better word. Beethoven's heart was very much in his music, that despite the fact that he was growing deaf, he still composed the most brilliant pieces i have ever heard. "Moonlight Sonata" is pure eargasm. Mozart is another favorite of mine, but Mozart's melodies are "cutesy" and easy to remember. Whereas Beethoven, OHMYGOD i don't even know where to begin. I'm going to rent Immortal Beloved and make my sister watch it, of course she's just going to call me mentally insane, but i'll take that as a compliment.

The First Letter
   July 6, in the morning
"My angel, my all, my very self - Only a few words today and at that with pencil (with yours) - Not till tomorrow will my lodgings be definitely determined upon - what a useless waste of time - Why this deep sorrow when necessity speaks - can our love endure except through sacrifices, through not demanding everything from one another; can you change the fact that you are not wholly mine, I not wholly thine"---Ludwig van Beethoven
